4th Negative Difficulty Adjustment of 2023
Difficulty adjusted down -3.26%, the 4th downward difficulty adjustment of the calendar year. The month over month growth rate of difficulty is down significantly from its 2022 peak. The reason for the slowing growth rate of difficulty is ASIC commoditization, as well as the fact that mining investment made during the last bull market has all been plugged in.
In our 2023 forecast, we predicted the growth rate of difficulty would slow down. This trend will likely continue until the 2024 halving.
